How To Use Local Falcon AI

Last updated on 12/29/2025, 4:54 PM

Local Falcon's "Falcon AI" tool uses your existing Scan Reports to provide AI-powered analysis of your business listings, comparing them to competitors and suggesting ways to troubleshoot and improve your listings to make them more competitive and boost your local ranking scores.

Automatically enabled on your Local Falcon Account, Falcon AI provides analysis for every Scan Report by default, or you can opt-out and instead manually instruct the AI tool to analyze past Scan Reports on demand.

Falcon AI Analysis is also available in any Trend Report and in Campaign Reports, as long as the AI was enabled for one or more of the Scan Reports used to generate the report.

The report will tell you which of your local ranking scores (Local Voice, Average Rank Position, and Average Tool Rank Position) need work and provide suggestions for troubleshooting your listing. It will also provide some competitor analysis, suggest ways to optimize your listing to make it more competitive, and highlight relevant citation building opportunities that can help boost visibility in organic search results.

Turning Automatic AI Analysis Off or On for All Scans

  1. Go to your Account Preferences

First, log in to your Local Falcon account. Then, from your dashboard, open up the "Account" drop-down in the left-hand navigation menu and select "Manage Preferences."

How Falcon AI Analyzes Your Google Business Profile & Google Maps Performance

Falcon AI evaluates your Google Business Profile (GBP) and local search performance using a multi-layered analysis framework. It reviews your listing fundamentals, compares you against competitors, analyzes geographic performance, and prioritizes actions that can improve visibility and rankings on Google Maps.

Tier 1: Google Business Profile Fundamentals

Falcon AI starts with essential "profile hygiene" checks pulled from your Knowledge Panel and business data. These factors form the foundation of local visibility:

  • Phone Number & Website – Presence, accuracy, and consistency
  • Business Description – Exists and is keyword-optimized (recommended: 150–300 words)
  • Hours & Open Status – Listed hours and real-time open/closed status
    • Important: If a business is marked closed during a scan, rankings may appear lower than actual performance
  • Reviews & Ratings – Star rating and total review count
    • Benchmarks: 4.5+ stars and 50+ reviews
  • Review Sentiment – Positive, negative, or mixed sentiment from Google-selected review snippets
  • Google Posts – Usage and recency (weekly posting recommended)
  • Events & Products – Whether these GBP features are actively used
  • Social Profiles – Connected social media links
  • Citations & Directory Links – Overall online presence and digital footprint

Tier 2: Competitive Intelligence

Falcon AI compares your listing directly against top-ranking competitors to identify gaps and advantages:

  • Category Gap Analysis – Categories competitors share that your business is missing
  • Primary Category Alignment – How well your primary category matches the target keyword
  • Rating Benchmarking – How your rating compares to top competitors
  • Review Count Benchmarking – How many reviews you need to match or surpass competitors
  • Competitor Weaknesses – Including:
    • Low ratings (below 4.5)
    • Fewer reviews
    • Missing categories
    • Incomplete or inactive profiles
  • Competitive Positioning – What differentiates your business from others in the local market

Tier 3: Geographic & Proximity Analysis

This layer focuses on where your business performs well — or struggles — across the map grid:

  • Regional Performance Patterns – Strong and weak areas based on Average Tool Rank Position (ATRP)
  • Top Competitors by Region – Which business dominates specific geographic zones
  • Distance Advantage Opportunities – Locations where you rank below a competitor despite being physically closer
  • Market Density Insights – Areas with heavy competition versus underserved regions

Tier 4: Strategic Prioritization

Falcon AI translates data into actionable recommendations by ranking tasks based on impact and effort:

Quick Wins (Low Effort, High Impact):

  • Adding or improving a business description
  • Updating hours
  • Responding to negative reviews
  • Adding missing categories

Medium-Term Priorities:

  • Increasing review volume
  • Improving overall star rating
  • Maintaining a consistent Google Posts schedule

Falcon AI also provides context around key ranking metrics, including Share of Local Voice (SoLV), Average Rank Position (ARP), and Average Tool Rank Position (ATRP).

Tier 5: Vulnerable Competitor Targeting

Falcon AI identifies competitors you can realistically overtake by combining proximity data with profile weaknesses. Priority targets typically meet multiple criteria:

  • You have a proximity advantage at multiple pins
  • Competitor rating is below 4.5
  • Competitor has fewer reviews (or a manageable review gap)
  • Competitor is missing relevant categories

These insights help focus efforts on competitors where gains are most achievable.

Tier 6: SERP & Keyword Intelligence

Falcon AI incorporates broader SERP data to uncover additional visibility opportunities:

  • Organic SERP Presence – Whether you or competitors appear in traditional (blue link) results
  • Related Keyword Opportunities – Common related searches users perform
  • People Also Ask Insights – Question-based opportunities tied to AI and search intent
  • Local Pack Presence – Whether a 3-pack appears for the keyword
  • Citation Opportunities – Authoritative directories where listings may be missing

Additional Analysis Factors

Falcon AI adjusts its analysis based on keyword intent and competitive nuances:

  • Brand vs Generic Searches
    • Brand searches → Brand audit
    • Competitor brand searches → Conquesting analysis
    • Generic keywords → Standard competitive analysis
  • Competitive Tie-Breakers
    • Keyword-in-business-name bias
    • Proximity bias (distance-to-pin evaluation)

This structured approach allows Falcon AI to move beyond surface-level ranking data and provide practical, prioritized insights for improving Google Business Profile and Google Maps visibility.
